Scanned vehicle found several codes P0871- OD pressure switch rationality P0988 4C Pressure switch rationality P2509 ECM/PCM Power input signal intermittent U3017 Control module timer/ clock performance P1776 Solenoid switch valve latched in L/R position Cleared codes and road tested vehicle. Found that the transmision drives ok but there is a shudder on the 2-3 shift on light throttle. Codes did not return after first drive. Fluid level full but color looked ok fluid smelled burnt. Recommend pulling pan and valve body to bench test valve body and transmission. Pulled the pan and inspected, found some normal material in the transmission pan but nothing abnormal. Tested valve body and found that the switching valve is not holding vacuum. Should vacuum test between 15-18 InHg current test 0-1 InHg. Air tested transmission and found hydraulic side OK at this time but the burnt fluid smell more noticeable. Suspect internal transmission damage with a failed valve body Disassembled valve body and found the switch bore was not reamed correctly. Recommend transmission rebuild with valve body replacement.

Checked for diagnostic trouble codes, found one: P0087 – Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low – Bank 1 Monitored rail pressure while cranking, commanded is 5200psi, was only producing 510psi, then suddenly the rail pressure shot up to commanded and vehicle started. Ran for 10 minutes then died again and wouldn't restart. Same symptoms as before. Checked fuel pressure from supply pump, slowly ramped up to 45psi and engine started, with running was only producing 35psi. Specification is 58-85psi. Recommend replacing supply pump and fuel filter and retesting high pressure pump.
